Media Relations Specialist

Students engage in the role of a Media Relations Specialist. Media Relations Specialists promote or create an intended public image for individuals, groups, or organizations. This can include specializations such as social media duties like writing or selecting material for release to various communications media.

This task is focused on helping students understand how roller coasters conserve energy and convert energy from one form to another.

Production Planner

Students act as Production Planners. Production Planners coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials within or between departments of an establishment according to production schedule. Duties include reviewing and distributing production, work, and shipment schedules; conferring with department supervisors to determine progress of work and completion dates; and compiling reports on progress of work, inventory levels, costs, and production problems.

Lemonade Stand Manager

In this task, students will learn about managing their own businesses. They will practice adding, subtracting, and making change to run their own Lemonade Stand.

Aquarium Designer

In this task, students are asked to play the role of a structural engineer whose team of marine biologists and zoologists enter a contest to design the best new aquarium.

Veterinary Assistant

Students step into the role of a vet assistant. Vet assistants work with pets and their owners. They help take care of sick and hurt pets. Part of their job is to teach pet owners how to care for their pets to keep them from getting sick. Students make sure pet owners have the information they need to keep their pets healthy.

In this task, students will create a scaled floor plan of a tiny house, calculate the square footage of the rooms, and determine the square footage needed for materials like siding, carpet, etc.
