VIRTUAL SUMMIT AGENDA
9:00 AM EDT Opening Keynote
Presenter: Jay McTighe
Session: Easing into Project-based Learning
Teachers and schools may find that a jump into full-blown PBL can be a challenge at the start. One approach is to “ease in” to PBL by beginning. In this session, Jay will present ideas from his recent book, Designing Authentic Performance Tasks and Projects: Tools for Meaningful Learning and Assessment. He will highlight shared characteristics of tasks and projects while describing eight distinguishing dimensions that can be used to “ease in” to PBL.

Session: Reimagining the Educational Experience for Students
Across the country school districts are reimagining the educational experience for students. Fort Wayne Community Schools recognizes the importance of creating learning experiences that prepare students for the day after graduation and envisions Project-based learning as a path for learners to acquire skills that are meaningful and relevant. The implementation of PBL empowers teachers to enhance the voice of students through the connectedness of real-world applications. In this session, Mark Daniel and Ramona Coleman will share how they are providing deeper learning experiences for students through the use of PBL while addressing these important topics.

Session: Lead From Where You Are
“I’m just...It’s a phrase we hear all the time. I’m just a teacher, I’m just an assistant principal….the list goes on and on and is always followed by reasons something CAN’T happen. Leadership is not a title, it’s an action, and it starts with you. Leading with INTENTION creates purpose. Leading with CONNECTION creates momentum. Leading with DIRECTION creates collective efficacy. Leading with all three in mind will not only build your capacity but foster an environment where everyone in your organization has the best opportunity to lead from where they are.
