Welcome OK Teachers!

The Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE) and Defined are providing teachers and students with the Defined Learning Computer Science and STEM Course. In this course, you will find computer science and STEM projects that are based on authentic situations in STEM careers. Click here to see how Defined Learning's Computer Science and STEM performance tasks align with Oklahoma state standards.

Take a look at what you will find in our Computer Science Tasks:

A collection of Project Based Learning tasks tied to Computer Science Oklahoma state standards. Each of the tasks highlights computational thinking practices. Students will investigate real-world problems through the lens of a career.

Components of a task:

  • Engaging slide deck
  • Informational videos
  • Check-in questions
  • Research resources
  • Product options

Every Performance Task uses the GRASP model to present the task to the students.

The GOAL provides the outcome of the learning experience.

The ROLE is always tied to a career to help the student achieve the goal.

The AUDIENCE goes beyond the teacher. This is a good place to customize the task to make it fit you and your students' needs.

The SITUATION is the background or context of the scenario.

The PRODUCTS are the Projects that the students are going to complete to demonstrate understanding.

Each project in the Defined Learning library is fully customizable, so you can build any project to meet your classroom goals.

There are 2-3 Product Options with customizable rubrics for each product.

Each product is aligned to specific standards.
